Pompeii, Herculaneum & Vesuvius

Duration: 8 hours Starting from: €280.00

No one should consider going back home without a visit at the world's most famous archeological ruins and also getting a good look at one of the world's most active and dangerous volcanoes.

Pompeii was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D., it remained buried under lava and ash for hundreds of years before the first ruin was discovered in 1784. To date, only a third of the city has been discovered, but it is still the largest archeological site in the world.

Located on the southern side of Mount Vesuvius, Herculaneum (Ercolano) also suffered from the eruption, although less severely, with part of the city covered by a lava flow and a smaller pomice drop than Pompeii.

It will be possible to admire villas and buildings that survived the eruption. Since then, the discovery of new ruins hasn’t ceased to amaze us!

Just imagine walking along the cobbled lanes, learning from a local guide all about the history and secrets of the ancient Roman towns.

To complete the tour there will be a climb up Mount Vesuvius, which leads to the volcano’s crater and overlooks the spectacular view of the whole Gulf of Naples, which was itself, in ancient times, a volcano.
